Need help. Car intermittantly is jerking only on acceleration???
Ok, my wife has a 99 Civic HX with about 89K on the car. She told me the was jerking really bad so I took her car for a few days to drive it. It starts fine, idles fine, but when acceleration, the car hesitates really bad. So when I was driving the CEL (MIL) light came on and gave codes P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 wich is general misfire and all 4 cylinders misfiring. So I changed the cap and rotor with OEM Honda parts and put in new NGK spark plugs and gapped them to .43. I did not change the plug wires yet because after I did the cap/rotor/plugs the car was fine. Yesterday she drove it again and said its doing it but no CEL came on. I just dont want to buy new wires if thats not the problem. But I probably will anyway. I guess I am just looking for some insight.
Thanks.
Thanks.
did you check for vacuum leaks?
EDIT: I'm only allowed 5 posts per day and I cant post right now so I'll add it here:
Spray your vacuum lines one at a time with carb cleaner, if your rpm's drop or sounds like that car wants to die, you have a leak there.

Is there an easy way to check for leaks? I looked really close and listened and found nothing but I dont know if I am doing it right.
