Default Auxilirary (Line-In) Input Option [Element]

My girlfriend has a new element and thought it came with an input jack next to the 12v cigarette lighter jack to plug in her mp3 player. I checked her manual and it turned out to be an option. Does anyone know if the complete disk changer needs to be changed out in order to have that input jack option or could I run a y-cable under the dash straight to the stock disk changer

what model does she have? If it's an LX you probably need a fm modulator

Her dad opted not to get the Aux Port option when they purchased the car. I believe it's an LX (it has like zero options) Usually it would be right next to the 12v DC (Cigarette Lighter) in the dash. I could install a Y-Cable into her deck if it has Audio Inputs in back, but I'm not sure if it does and don't feel like pulling apart her set up to find out. Does anyone have an Element with the Aux Input? Is there anything different about the 6-Disc Changer/Head Unit in the LX Element (w/o Aux input) and the EX that does have the Aux Input?
