Has anyone removed their gas tank cover? if so, is it pretty easy? It looks like all you gotta do is remove the plastic piece and then remove the 2 screws. why? I'm getting my bumpers repainted and rather than leaving the entire car at the shop the painter said I could just leave a painted metal piece for the color matching. TIA

sounds right. haven't done it yet but it's just a couple bolts on most cars.

 

yeah, it's pretty simple, that's all there is too it, the two plastic screws, and the two small bolts on the rear. i had to remove it when i installed my hitch, i also left it off.
