speedo..overload?

speedo..overload?
Does anybody know what would cause a speedo not to work b/c it keeps popping the fuse...
It's some weird ****. I put a paper clip in there and took it up the road, worked then stopped, it MELTED the paper clip into the fusebox. Now this isn't mine nad isn't a honda and plz don't flame me for it (but if you must, go for it
), hoping somebody that knows electronics well can tell me what the hell is going on there.
It has its own independent fuse for the speedometer.
