Default opinions on my next bike

ok, i have a lot to say and im just hoping that i can make it all make sense once typed out so here goes. i have an 03 r6 that is a nice bike but too agressive for the riding i do. im looking for a bike that would be fun in the twisties, comfy to ride around town, and something id be able to modify cause i love working on my toys. so at first i was thinking of getting an sv650 and swapping in some gsxr1000 forks and try to rig up some kind of single sided swing arm. then i thought if i got a ducati s4r then id have the vtwin that i want, and hte sss is already on there. couple problems with the s4r however, 1. EXPENSIVE in every way, 2. no rear seat for the occasional passenger i have. now, would you all recomend me gettin an sv and tryin everything i mentioned or go for the s4r and say goodbye to my money and ladies? oh and one more thing, about how much can i look at spending for the suspension and swing arm mods i want to do if i get an sv? thanks everyone and i hope this made sence and wasnt too long

You clearly are against the Duc already so just go with the SV, plus project SV's can be fun

Get a smaller Monster, and when you save up your pennies, do a SSS conversion. Although I don't know why you're wedded to the idea of a SSS.

Monsters are damn good bikes if you get one that is right, and keep it right. An SV would be cheaper in just about every way.

Get the SV. But if you really plan on doing swingarm mods, plan on spending a couple thousand. It requires a bit of machine work and creativity. Frankly, i don't think swingarm mods are worth it on the SV. And if you get the calculations wrong it could result in some seriously undesirable geometries.
The GSXR front end can be had for anywhere from 500-1500, depending. You'll probably also want to get some different clip-ons with that as i believe normal GSXR clipons will hit the fairings.
You'll also want to get the speedo mod for the front end so your speedo can work. You can find out about all of this and more on svrider.com

I say, get an F3 rear wheel and the GSXR front end and you'll be pretty happy. I've ridden my friend's SV with a similar setup and only +2 teeth in the rear. It's a very enjoyable bike.
And come on, how can you say now to this:

I personally am in a similar situation as you. I'll be trading my RC51 for an SV650s this weekend. Good all around bike.

I love that SV, I remember you posting it before...LOVE the exhaust and while the F3 rear wheel is subtle it looks soooo good.

Get an s2r then. I've been riding one around a bit; it is fun bike while not being too expensive.

http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/lightning/ Get a Buell Lightning if the Speed Tripple is too much $$ for you. Same looks, less price, and probably the same reliability.

EDIT: NEVERMIND. The buel MSRP is actually more than the Triumph. Get the Speed Tripple.

triple >>>>>>>> monster...
the monster is a ***** *** street bike in my opinion and ducati should never had made it. However, the speed tripe is refined sporty as hell! 130hp. as oppsed to the monsters whopping 80hp or whatever it is. plus its british man, how can you lose.

The S2R 800 has 77rwhp...the S4R 1000 has 113rwhp.

thanks for all of the input and opinions everyone. i do love the triumph but i really want a v-twin, i just love for v-twins. ive sat on the buel and it is way way too small for me, im 6'4". im beginning to think that the sv is the bike to get, i guess the ducati will remain my dream bike for now. what is a good asking price for a 2003 silver r6 with 14K miles, pretty new tires, yosh slip on, dropped once by previous owner at stand still but still only one scratch? anyone wanna buy an r6 in winter for summer price?

Wow....don't ever recommend a bike again. The Buell is a POS compared to the triple or the monster...

Buell's are utter crap. I sat on one at a dealership once. It was so hideously put together i thought it gave me cancer.
