Default recommend me spring rates

looking into a gc/koni yellow setup for my b18c1 swapped civic ex. what are the OTS rates btw? primary purpose for the car is spirited street driving, drag racing every few weeks, and maybe i'll try an hdpe just to get my feet wet. a stiff ride doesnt bother me as long as im not chipping teeth. currently riding on neuspeed springs and stock shocks ftl.

so do you think the OTS rates will be enough or go with custom rates? also are their billet upper mounts worth it?

Rate recommendations will vary, based on your car. You mention Civic EX, but no mention of year and if its a coupe or sedan (did the hatchback come as an EX?).

For "spirited street driving", you're fine now.
For drag, you want a high ride height (nearly stock or stock height) to minimize front camber and stiff rear springs to prevent squat on launch.
For HPDE, OTS rates are probably a good starting point.

You'll need to tailor your spring rates to your driving style, comfort needs, and desired vehicle behavior.

Depends what you like. People that dd their vehicles tend to prefer more on the lighter side with rates near 400lbs or less. While there are others such as myself, who run 12k front / 10k rear in a civic eg(hatch) or even higher rates. Its just a matter of how much you're willing to sacrifice ride comfort for performance. At the track, i love my car. On the street, there are times i hate how bumpy it is or how cautious I have to be to keep my car from going airborne. If you're going to dd the car on stiff spring rates, I would certainly suggest not taking the car out of the normal route. One, there are bumps in the road that can cause a stiff setup to go airborne and two, you could really endanger yourself and the lives of others if you don't drive cautiously.

Stiff rates = drive slower in normal city driving but higher speeds at the track
Soft rates = drive faster in normal city driving but lower speeds at the track

There's bumpy roads everywhere even in newly paved cities where the roads may curve up and down even though the concrete is freshly laid. The stiffer you go, the more of road imperfections the cockpit will feel.

OTS rates are good for normal city driving and a little added performance. But in all honestly, if you want to compete at hdpe, anything below 400 is too soft.
