Default Regassing Konis?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a pair of rear konis sitting at home. the shocks are pushed in all the way and wont come back up. Will regassing them fix this? also i'm missing the seat for the spring would i be able to order another one from koni?

also this is for a rsx if that matters.

The RSX KONI dampers are not gas units to begin with. They are not supposed to have gas in them and thus they will never reextend themselves with unloaded. Just use them as they were designed. The fact that the shocks may have gas in it and reextend itself means nothing whatsoever once it is actually installed on the car and has no effect whatsoever on damping force or function. Do not try to have them gas charged, the gas pressure was specifically not included in the first place for volumetric reasons but again on the car the gas presence or lack has no function at all. Put them on the car and use them.

If you are missing a rear spring perch, you can contact KONI North America and the tech people can probably help you with another rear spring perch. The front units being strut inserts do not use spring perches.

thanks a lot. the reason i thought they were gased or whatever was because they didn't "reextend" and i wasn't able to fit the top hats on with the lowering springs in place. I think i need to compress the springs to get the top hats to bolt on. If i do manage to get them bolted on will the shock come back out? and also if it does will there be any damage to the konis from "forcing" the shock to come back out?
