anyone know if i can run 88mm pistons safely with stock sleeves? h22a block?
anyone know if i can run 88mm pistons safely with stock sleeves? h22a block? i got some pistons but need to know if i can bore the stock 87mm to 88 safely? anyone??
are they OEM oversized pistons or aftermarket forged? If they are forged your gonna have to sleeve the block. If they are OEM you can get a bore and hone job and put em in.

Exactly, the FRM is only .5mm thick (or less). So if you you bore out further you no longer have FRM cylinder walls & what is left is not suitable as a cylinder wall material. That's why OEM OS pistons are still rather close to 87mm. Any larger than that requires sleeving.

not an exact oem, a copy, available in 87 87.5 and 88mm, stock casting not forged and pretty cheap at 200 bucks for all 4 with rings and pins. so 88 is too big to bore for stock sleeves? getting conflicting info here????

so how big can i go with a stock sleeve? 87.5? or just .025 over? or should i just stick with the stock 87mm bore? anyone?
To reiterate, the most you can bore the stock sleeves is to 87.25mm. Any more, and you will damage the fibers in the frm. If you want more, you'll need to resleeve.
