Wife say R is too uncomfortable
dammit she is fed up!
Suspension is stock springs with tokiko shocks; I run them on a soft setting. It could be the Azenis that are less forgiving than an all season tire.
I dunno, but the R has been our only car for a few years now and it might be time to make the R into the summer/weekend car or *gasp* sell it for something comfortable. I just don’t want to end up with a heavy car.
I did a few autoxs with the R last year, and I plan on a few trackdays with it this summer. Does anyone else have this problem? If I sell the R and get something more comfortable, I fear it will suck on the track.
The car we have looked at as a replacement/DailyDriver is a 1999 E46 323i sedan. boooo. Has anyone done a trackday in a heavy car like this?

Haha, I thought this would be the response, she supports the car thing, just not at the expense of her comfort. So I think I will get a second car, this way I can get coilovers for the R and not have to hear complaining about comfort.
I would like to keep the R if possible, she is in law school right now so I have been trying to hold off on owning 2 cars until we are both making money. if cost were less of an object we would own an m3 (her choice) and an elise (or s2000).
right now I am at two options:
1)Sell R and buy comfortable transportation (2000 E46 323ci coupe) and then when she is out of law school we will buy a fun car for me: s2k/elise
2)buy cheaper 2nd car (1999 E46 323i sedan) $9000 ish and keep the R, buying coilovers for it when I get the money together.

LMFAO!
LMFAO!
Its not too bad buying 2 cars, its insuring 2 cars and maintiaing two that scares me. I think I will buy the back up car, take the R off insurance in the winter and store it at my cousins' farm where they havent even heard of overhead cams. with money saved from ITR insurance, I can get coilovers and go to track days.

You know you'd regret selling the R.

My brothers girl was saying the same thing about his car. So one day he took her for a ride in my daily driven EH hatch with buddy club race spec suspension. She has not said a word since.

I would stay away from a BMW then. You mentioned a couple different models above. They are great cars ( I have one) but for those most part those cars are fairly maintenance intensive and unless your doing the work yourself it can be costly. I'd stick with an Accord or Civic as a second vehicle.
