Default So here it goes...

I have a 1990 CRX Si. I blew up the D16A6 and put in a D16Y7 from a 97 DX. I used my old intake mani, header, and dizzy on the Y7 so I could stay OBD0. Now I want to get a VTEC head. A buddy of mine will sell me his head, dizzy, silonoid, intake, header, and ecu out of a 95 Civic EX.
My question is, what all do I need to do to complete the swap and make it work? I've searched, and didnt find anything that is useful to my unique situation. Do I need to get an OBD0-OBD1 jumper harness? Is there some way that I could stay OBD0 and wire an RPM switch to engage VTEC? I just don't like mixing OBD codes, but if need be I can go to OBD1 and use his manifolds, etc.
Thanks in advance.

I did read it. I didn't see anything about pinning an OBD0 ECU for a D16Y8 head/dizzy or vtec. I might have missed it, but I didn't see anything that answered my questions. Sry. Anyone else?

Read the faq, you can't use the Z6 (92-95 vtec) dizzy with your obd0 ecu, you need the corresponding one. If you want to say obd0 then use your obd0 ecu, i think you can get them chipped and programed to run vtec, or you can use a rpm switch, or maybe a vtec controller, much better to use the p28 though. It's all in the FAQ

It will run both ways but you'll have to use OBD0 parts (distributor/injectors) if you use an OBD0 ECU. It'll run the best using an OBD1 P28 ECU however. You'll need to get the OBD0-1 jumper, either a distributor adaptor or repin the plugs to swap the OBD0 plugs onto the OBD1 distributor, and either use your OBD0 injectors with the resistor box or the OBD1 injectors and eliminte the box. Do it right don't use a switch to activate VTEC. I've had it both ways and the P28 ECU method is the best.
