EDIT:::: CAN ANYONE PROVE THIS PLEASE
Hello, there is this person who keeps nagging me that there are four door type r's in the US. I need to kno for a fact that this is not true. I am 99.9% sure there isnt but, his consistant nagging and does not want to budge down is making me think what if he's right.
I keep telling him to stop b/c everytime I here him talk about hondas its like needles in my ears. I just try to daze off and wonder if I would get in trouble for killing him, and hoping is was just self defense and get off free
Thanks,
Jp

Haha, well don't kill him in too obvious a way.
Anyway, yes out of all the Type-R's that Honda made, the only one to make it the the US market was the DC2 chassis. The DB8 chassis was not released as a Type R in the US, only the GSR variant.

The only real proof I can offer you is that I own a Type-R and I am 10,000% positive that there was never a 4 door (DB8 chassis) Integra Type-R offered in the US market.
In fact, I dare say that it was ONLY offered in the Japanese market, however I cannot confirm that.

I am 99.9% sure that there was no four door ever made in the US. I mean seriously I kno that there isn't. But then Again i never did see it on paper from Honda or Acura.
And thats what I want and thats what he needs. I just feel bad. Like I need to help him, he needs serious help

Why would you see it in paper? I mean, honestly. Do a search for Acura Integra Type R DB8 and see what you find.. I guarentee you won't find any. And if you do, they'll be modified GSR's.

My attempt at a 'proof'
An Integra Type R sedan, had it been offered in the US market would of had a VIN beginning JH4DB851.... You cannot find a VIN that begins with that in the Honda Owner Link site.
Plus alot of us are just ITR ****** and know with 10,000% certainty like LunchboxZT that the ITR sedan was never sold brand new in the US. There are a handful in this country that have been imported used.
EDIT: If you're really energetic, you or he could collect all the ITR sales brochures from each of the years the ITRs were offered in the US. You will find no mention of a sedan whatsoever.

That's a good point Doespike! I didn't think of that.
JH4DB851 doesn't exist. and it would be a 4 door ITR. Voila! Doespike wins.

I know thats what I tried explaing to him. He's just being a little ignorant. Nothing much then that
How about have him show proof it was available in the US Market? If he is sure it existed, can he provide the proof?
Tell him to call up Acura, and ask for an OEM Type R wing for a Sedan, they won't have it.
I think Doespike made a great point about the VIN, the Type R Sedan just was never made for US. That VIN is strong enough evidence to prove it doesn't exist in US.

I think this is the only printed reference from Honda/Acura that'll help you.

Here,
Let's take Discounttire.com for example.
it requires you (as many websites do) to put in your vehicle make and model to buy tires, or other parts.
You'll find no mention on this site, or any other site (tirerack.com for example) of a 4 -door Type-R
Now, I think I've wasted enough of my time on your silly little question. So, Good Night!

lol thanks alot.
I am not going take pics of every single page of the ITR brochures i own. I will however say that on every single brochure the ITR is referred to as a sports COUPE, and absolutely positively never called a sedan or offered with 4 doors. Tell your buddy to hop on here and show us proof there was a 4dr ITR offered to the USDM market, we have already done our best to show him it wasn't.
<---100% sure there has never been a 4dr ITR offered in the USDM.

I dont even own an R, but I have a *****, and all real car guys know that there are no 4-door R's in the USDM.
Damn, lots of misinformation in this forum. I used to own a 1996 4 door USDM ITR before my current 2000 2 door ITR. The VIN in 1996 was not the same format as 97+ 2 door ITR so your VIN logic wont work. And Discount Tire does not offer tires for the 1996 4 door ITR because they are exclusive Honda tires. 1996 was the final year they were made in the US. Ill see if I can find a pic.
