Default Flushing Tranny Cooling Lines

i bought an accord with a blown auto tranny. the previous owner had it power flush it at jiffylube. i want to know how to flush the cooling lines of metal shaving that may be in there so the next one tranny wouldn't get messed up.

Thank You

dude are you saying that the reason the traany blew is because of the tranny flush that was performed at jiffy lube? are you not supposed to change the traany fluid on a 1990 honda accord with an automatic tranny? b/c that is exactly what i was about to do this weekend.... will that F up my tranny?

When you have the old trans out, take the cooler lines, hold the longest one up high and fill it up with a can of spray type brake cleaner till it runs out the lower hose; then blast compressed air thru the cooler. repeat that a couple times.
I usually wrap a rag around the lower hose and clamp it in place with vise grips to keep the brake clean from splattering everywhere and also you'll get to see what you flushed out of the cooler.

Instead, you should just drain & fill. If it's dirty, or you suspect anything, then drain & fill 3 or 4 times & drive around in between. That's because you can only drain out about 1/3 or 1/2 of the fluid.
