I also have to thank the Opak / Spoon Honda guys. They let us by with 20 minutes to go, as we were chasing down 2nd place in class.

Congratulations Mike and the whole PDQ team!!

I knew you could pull off a three-peet (once we were out of the race, of course)

In the Car and Driver Photo Gallery, they have a good one of the PDQ car.

Brian Z and Mike L.- Sorry about the issues you had with the car, and then crew. What caused the first incident that created the 2nd?

We didn't have any issue with our car. Honda Reliability! It was the other cars running in to ours that ended out race. Brian Z had spun out in some oil layed down by a engine blowing right in front of him. The car was high-centered in a ditch, while waiting for the tow vehicle, another car came along and did see him until it was too late, and that was that. but that is part of the race, 90% prep and driver talent, and 10% luck, luck was not with us.

Going into T9 the Rt rear wheel hub sheared off. The driver was on the brakes at the time and the car violently went rt (at a left turn), I was about halfway between T8 and T9 when it happened. It spun like a top as it kicked up LOTS of dust .

They blew a motor and swapped in another one. they were down for about 5 hours. Not sure what time it happened.

We had a rod bolt fail in the #1 cylinder at about the 5 hour mark. We swapped the engine out and were back on track just after ten pm and were able to finish the race just a little behind PDQ LOL
