Default Progress of my winter project.... turbo gsr w/pics

UPDATES!

--Finally got the car finished and am enjoying every bit of it. Alot of thanx go out to my family and girlfriend for putting up with my ****. Special thanx to my parents for letting me use the garage space and feeding me while i worked late nights getting this done. Thanx to the guys at FSM, Josh and Dan, for answering my retarded questions and building a nasty longblock. Thanx to Chris Harris at Xenocron Tuning Solutions for the awesome tune session (and for putting up with my paranoia). Its been a great experience and a definite rush. Words cant describe the personal gratification of finishing your project car. Final thanx to the H-T community, all the info was gathered from this site to send me in the right direction.

Running the car currently at 9psi and its a freakin blast to drive! Im glad i went with the ITR tranny since it will pay dividends when i throw DR's on it at the track. With the t3/t04e spooling around 4500 rpms, it really makes the setup drivable out of boost. Just got Kumho spt's mounted yesterday and i cant say enough about those tires, best for the money for sure. If i had these spt's mounted we may have gotten a dyno run on 12psi without my shitty old tires spinning the rollers.

I will edit the following material to reflect what parts i decided to go with and i will post some updated pics on this page and the last.--

Its been a year since my car has seen the road and im attempting to have it road worthy by this spring. The goal is strictly a street/sometimes strip car that puts 300-350hp to the wheels. I want a street car that is somewhat tame that can be driven hard and have fun with. The platform is a 95gsr and heres whats currently goin on.........

The long block is being built by the guys at First State Motorsports and consists of:

CP 81.5mm 9.5.1 + Eagle + ACL (Stock sleeves)
GE Headstuds + Cometic HG + Brian Crower springs and retainers.
Blox IM, stock fpr, 525cc precisions and walbro 255.
Peakboost FTW Kit
Moroso oil pan
Turbosmart MBC
Kteller exhaust, 3in stainless with black n1
PWR 1/2 rad
Innovate XD16 Wideband
Autometer boost gauge
Autometer oil pressure gauge
Fluidampr crank pulley
Greddy catch can (modified)
Brand new usdm ITR tranny with a stage 4 CC clutch and flywheel
Fastline Performance RR shifter

Suspension and brakes consist of:

Koni Yellow+GC coilover setup
ITR front and rear strut tower bars
Comptech rear lower tie bar
Neuspeed front lower tie bar
Polyurethane bushings everywhere
NSX front brake swap with Goodridge SS lines
Full Race traction bar
15in Rota Circuit 8's Kumho SPT 205/50/15

This car will be damn near brand new (besides body work) when im done this winter. Ive already replaced small odds and ends like ball joints, tie rod ends, brake rotors (ditched cross drilled rears for blanks). I just finished installing my GE vacuum mani tonight after i took these pics. Ill try and post one later tomorrow......

As i said earlier i still need body work done, the MR paint just didnt hold up too well the past 2 years. It has the infamous OEM lip kit and i cant wait to get a fresh coat on it this coming summer/fall.......

Heres some pics of some of the progress as well as some goofy pics of the family around the shop.......... No project thread would be complete without pet pics as well!

New Pics!

The carnage:

More pet and family pics:

Thanx for looking guys, lmk what yall think.......
Ill be updating when i can on progress........

NEW PICS

Yea definitely leaning on the Peakboost kit, havent heard anything but good about it.......

I may try my luck with the kumho's, i need something that had a lil better treadlife than the azenis........ im hoping the traction bars will help out a bit. I may do a set of ET streets if i go to the strip so that wont be a problem.......

If you're gonna make some power then do it right the first time and get an ATI or Fluidamper.

I definitely agree with you, its not totally in my budget but i may have to work some OT to get it.......... I was gonna have Dan at FSM just throw an oem unit on there.

Its an Unorthodox Aluminum pulley, and is not harmonically balanced. It can cause some bottom end damage on higher hp higher revving motors........

I killed two oil pumps and eventually one motor with a Unorthodox pulley. Have since went to a stocker.
