why my '92 accord running 500 rpm higher when hot, anyone had this problem???
hi there,
here is the deal, my 2.2 liter accord seems to run about 500 rpms higher when it reaches full operating temp. but no lights or "fault" seems to be triggered. once this condition happens, i can reset the ECU and it seems to go back to normal and doen't happend for some while like 20-30 minutes of driving. the whole thing is real frostrating because no "check engine light" is on so not sure what in the world is going on.
i wonder if anyone has experience this problem???
i'm working on a theory that it might be the coolant temperture unit for the cooling fans. the sensor like screw in that's right at the top of the upper outlet hose, not the temparture sensor right in the block, because that one, if unpluged, sets off the check engine light, but the one that's at the thermostat housing does not. any idea if this is the problem or how to check this sensor unit?? any helpful advise would be appreciated. thanks.
