Default funny fog light phenomenon...comments/ideas please

i purchased a 96 gs-r this past summer with the jdm front-end conversion..

well anyhoo, i noticed that the "fog lights" never worked...the two middle yellow lights...

but, just a couple days ago...my battery went to sh**, so i got it drained and recharged at a local autoparts store...after testing it, it came out to be still good so yah...

so, i get home, put the battery back in...and guess what??

THE FOG LIGHTS NOW WORK!!

i mean, i dont get it...before my battery went kaputz, my car was totally fine...had absolutely no symptoms that the battery was going out...

is it possible that a weak battery actually made my fogs not go on before??

help please! thanx!

Sounds like there could possible be a short in the wiring or the switch. If they suddenly stop working anytime soon thats the problem. If the battery was low the fog lights would still come on but they would be dim.

oh, so ure saying if they stop working...then the problem could be a short in the wiring/switch...

then let's say they just keep on working fine...then no problems?

probably a shiesty ground on the fogs, check all the grounds in the foglight circuit.
