Default Car Shipping Companies You've Trusted

And yes I did search, I got a few websites but I'm just like every other paranoid R owner and I'd love some insight from you guys.

Anyway, I'm at personal crossroads in life (not going to get into them) but I'm sorting out the logistics of every possible option and most of them include sending the R up to NY to be stored in my parents garage. Driving it up is out of the question, with shitty PA roads on I-81 and winter peering it's ugly head I can't risk it.

I'd prefer to have to pay out the cash (and maybe a little more if necessary) to find a premium/reliable shipping company that I can trust to get my car where it's suppose to be without losing sleep over it. Also keep in mind that it's pretty low, I'll raise it back up if I have to but that's just another factor in the mix.

Worse comes to worse I guess I could tow dolley, but I really don't wanna take that option. Let me know what you think.. Thanks.

I was gonna use these guys: http://www.dasautoshippers.com/ awhile back when I was gonna buy my EVO from a dealership in Cali. But I got a local dealer to match the price so I didn't need to use them. But I've heard alot of good response over on the EVOM board for those who did use DAS when they bought their EVOs from South Coast in Cali and had them shipped to the East coast. They offer several options, rates and have a pretty user friendly site.

Personally I'd ask a Honda Challenge driver with a trailer if he wanted to make some extra holiday money and take a trip with them.

oh damn, I just got a quote at DAS and it was only the 4's, however they have an enclosed trailer option which brings it up in the 8's... I'm not so much as worried about the companies as much as people spotting it out on an open trailer on I-95/I-81 and follow it then proceeding to ruin my life.

i used DAS as well when i sold my ek. they were the best as far as price went. the only complaint was that it took them a week later to get to the destination and when it got there, they broke my front lip and rear lip (stock height) but they did replace it (only because i bought full cov insurance from them). so i would say, they're okay. if you have the money to spend, find a better auto shipper IMO

Wow I just checked out the Horseless Carriage site and that's exactly what I was looking for. I'm not really concerned if it costs me an upwards of 2g's so as long as it gets there safely.

I sold my Saab 9000 turbo to a guy in Cali and DAS shipped it from Omaha, NE. Price was the lowest, but you get what you pay for. Car was treated pretty rough. The ride was so rough the CD player wouldn't read CDs after. Car arrived dirty and dinged. Tracking system wouldn't work at the time, took 3 weeks longer than quoted, etc. It will do the job but you could do a lot better for a few hundred bucks more

Yeah I really can't have that. I don't plan on taking the cheap route out on this one.

and then get a 1-way flight back. If you do it soon, you should have clear roads through PA. I used to take Route 15 from NY to Maryland ALOT. The highway dept always kept it pretty clear. And 15 wasn't even an Interstate. Just my nickel and 3 cents change...

Yeah I normally take 95 then through 15 to 83 then 81 all the way up past syracuse. It's almost a 131k 2000.. I really hate putting unnecessary miles on it. I'm gonna wait to see what these HorselessCarriage people quote me, if it's too retarded then I'll more than likely just bite the bullet and drive it.

I used AM/PM carriers when I had my car shipped from Wisconsin to Florida. Cost me $900 because the car was not drivable. It would have been $600 but that was on an open truck. If you wanted it in a closed truck I believe you'd have to pay the $900 with a running car and $1200 for a non-running car IIRC. You should check em out.

I had the same shipping costs for my shell being shipped from Northern NJ to South FL. This was on an open truck as well with insurance and door to door service. They picked the car up with 3 days and delievered it around 5 days later. When i get home ill look for the company name if your interested.
