If you run a b16 dizzy on an b18c5 then it will run but not run as good as it would with the correct b18c5 dizzy.

if you are talking about putting on a d16z6 dizzy onto b16/b18c5 then it might not even bolt up, but if it does, once again it will probably run like *** until you get the corresponding distributor.

somebody please correct me if i'm wrong.

Not true, they are all basically the same, no difference in power or driveability swapping between any of the distributors unless they have bad parts inside. Hell, I run an oem B20 distributor on my b20/vtec motor making plenty of power

And no, d-series will not work...it should NOT be the same part number.

See the only reason I said that was because a few years back my friend built a na D16z6 but he was too cheap and was using a d15 distributor. The car ran, but ran like ***. We then installed my d16z6 dizzy of my car and the engine was running completely different, much better infact.

So that's why I based that...I personally thought it wouldn't run as good but we all know the b16 is almost the b18c5 specifically in the cylinder head so I can understand that being the same.

thanks for correcting

A d16z6 will fit a b18c gsr head, but the bolt pattern is not correct, it will bolt up, but can't be adjusted, so the cams will run retarded the whole time. This is why it doesn't run right. The vtec d16z6 distributor is the only d series that will work on b series, but run very terrible. THe tip is smaller too, so you might leak oil. Not worth the risk, go buy the correct distributor for the head you use.

i did compare a P05(92-95 OBD-1 Civic CX) dizzy rotor shaft with my PT2(99-2000 OBD2) while doin a a hybrid. the rotor shaft's bearing in mt PT2 was busted so i have to fix it somehow.

the rotor shaft, TDC, CKP sensor rotors are all indentical(same tooth count, same position) except the CYP sensor rotor. the P05's CYP sensor rotor points in a different direction compared to the PT2's CYP sensor rotor.
