1991 Accord auto will not turn over...
(g/f's)Car will not turn over. Do not want to waste a lot of money trying to figure this out since it is not my car. It will make the cranking sound but fails to turn over.
It will sometimes turn over for a few seconds then sputter and die.
The car started doing this once in a while about a week ago, now doing it every day.
I have not owned a Honda in several years so I am out of the loop.
Looking at:
-Distributer
-Starter
-Ignition coil
-Main relay (Checked for the clicking noise and it is there)
Does not look to be battery or alternator issues.
Where should I start?

The best place to start is with an accurate diagnose.
Did the car have no spark?
Do you have pressure at the fuel rail when cranking?
Is there power on the Black/yellow wire at the dist. with the key on?

could also be electrical portion of ignition switch. when trying to start, if it does catch, let off key slightly but continue to hold. if it runs but when you let go of key it dies, it may be electrical portion or ignition switch. wiring from ignition key cylinder to lower left fuse box.good luck
Most likely the distributor,
If it sounds like it wants to start like normal, but just wont start, its the ignitor in the distributor, which costs about the same as a new distributor, so Im almost postitive that when you put the new dizzy on your problems will go away
