Default LOWERED DC2 in snow sucks

Damn Man, got that first snow fall, driving my DC2 on skunk2 springs was fucked up. Good thing that car is going to get sold soon. I am getting a DC5 yeahh, I am so happy. So learning from this little experience has taught me that lowered cars in snow although manageable makes it harder to drive.
So, I decided to get a full coil over system for my DC5. Any good recommendations for a midwest chi-town DC5???

I was thinking about getting the TEIN Street system, but not too sure on it's durability. My guy has this system on his EP3 and he already blew out a rear strut.

Whats the protocol on this if this were to happen? I'm pretty sure they have some sort of warranty, but can you buy and replace the faulty strut??

Thanks guys and let me know what you think.

Hey guys forgot to tell you I have about a $1000.00 that I can drop on a full coil over system.

Or maybe get a sleeve coilover system, I just saw some ground control coilovers for $350 on jhpusa.com.

well i would defiantly get the oilovers. now the question is are you just going to dayly drive it, if so then the ss are perfect but if your going to do some kind of traack events (road racing, autox) then i would consider something more agresive. Good luck man

Well I looked at the function form coilovers, good price. Want to get on some auto X on the weekends. I want to retain some daily driveability, it's just me in the car so I don't have to worry about anybody else.

Thanks for your advice,

I drove my DC2 Integra through 3 Wisconsin winters with no issues. *shrug*

weaksauce, just throw a small shovel in the back in case you run into some trouble(or snow drifts) and you'll be all good

I drove an EJ1 with about 3 inches of ground clearance at its lowest point through 4 Chicago winters and never had an issue, only resorted to the shovel in the trunk a handful of times if that.

This will be my second year driving a lowered EP3 in the winter and getting into some trouble because of the ride height is the least of my concerns.

As far as full coilover setups go, I'm daily driving my EP3 70miles a day on Buddy Club N+ Dampers, they are pretty stiff even on its low settings but they have taken the abuse very well, especially considering some of the roads I had to drive through. If you have a tolerance for something stiffer I would recommend them, especially if you plan on attending some track days.

I have never had problems in Western NY winters. I am always the lowest car out of all my friends too. No probs yet.

im going to get the HKS hypermax RS' for my Ep. i cant wait. I had Flex's on my Eg before and didn't like them, they were really cheep, the spring rates are low and they have really poor valveing.

Buddy Clubs are good too but im not sure if they have a sleeve where you lower the car without lowering the spring.

Plus its fun to drive in smow it keeps you on your toes and inproves your driving skills

Great post! 100% useful.

Keep the car lowered and buy 4 good snows. You'll have a ball in the winter.

Thanks for all the input guys, really appreciate it, don't get me wrong I love to go out to an empty parking lot and go ******* nuts. Your advice gives me peace of mind. On my new car either an EP3 or a DC5 I will definitely go for the coilovers. Not too sure if Function $875 shipped, or Tein Basic Dampers.

I'll have to figure that out,
Just like to say thanks to everyone, and peace to all my MIDWEST tuners,
Drive safe.

Look into Ksports also. Good for the money. I paid like $780 shipped.
