Default BPi Flow Stack ON AEM COLD AIR INTAKE

Hello,

I'm interested in buying a BPi FLOW STACK, but I have a question... I own a Honda Civic VTi (Engine B16A2) with a Cold Air Intake AEM 2.75" which is obviously smaller than the BPi FLOW STACK 3", this is the question... Is it worth it to make the investment and buy the FLOW STACK and put them together knowing that one is bigger than the other? Will i lose hp?

» Engine Mod:
1.6 DOHC VTEC B16A2 (stock block)
Hondata Heatshield
CTR Cams
AEM adjustable Cams gear
AEM Cold Air Intake
Apexi N1 4-2-1 Header & exhaust system
Fuel Pressure Gauge Set
JDM ITR Throttle Body 62mm

Thank you in advance,

Real Ek4

i tried to put the bpi stack with the 6" k&n filter on my aem itr cai, It fit on the intake fine, but the filter was too big/hung too low to put the lower splash guard back on. I ended up going with a short ram setup.

You can buy coupling reducers. Search for turbo couplings, they should offer a 3" to 2.75" coupling.

imo a 3" stack on a 2.75" pipe will work fine. i mean it's only a 1/4 of an inch. regardless your not going to notice any major gain or loss with a minor intake mod.

If I were you I'd consider a sri. I didn't want to switch over either, but I'm glad I did. Now I'm not parinoid to drive in the rain

Simple reducer 2.75-3"

I noticed a difference with my h22 crx setup...lil quicker throttle response...tiny bit more get up through the power band it seemed...definetly a gain of power not a loss...

My BPI and K&N filter

Here's is an alternative filter (more compact and shorter) that worked on this ITR:

We noticed a slight gain 1-3whp on my b17 with 2.75" AEM si short ram intake. I flared my intake pipe instead of using a reducer coupling though.

One of our retailers, HybriDynamics, has run a lot of interesting tests, including a sri to cai test with our stack. We have not published then yet, because we are gearing up for the launch of a new dyno test "database" on our site.

Their is a guy on here, who multiple test with short ram and cold air intake. A bunch of different varation test comparing the two. I can't find the thread though. I believe it was on a stock K20. It was in the integra forum I believe, my memory sucks.

RF-1009
RU-4600
RP-4600
RT-4600

These are all 4" height, but the RF-1009 tapers to a 5" OD top where as the others taper to a 4.5" OD top

RF has chrome top, RU is rubber top, RT is titanium top, RP is Carbon Fiber top.

I am not following you, what are you asking?. "compact" is a relative term.

Sorry on the pic on the thread, that filter "looks": to be about half of the length of the other ones that work with your stack.

is that the case or is just the pic that makes it look that way

hope I cleared it up.....a.k.a for my car the shorter the filter is (in overall length) the better
