If anyone wants good tires for winter driving, check out the BF Goodrich Revelation Touring tires. The ones on my car are P195/65/R15 89S Mud-and Snow-rated. Factory spec for my car is P195/60/R15 87H. It is nothing but snow and ice here in Kansas City, and the Revelation Touring tires have excellent winter traction, but still only slightly less traction on snow than on dry roads...In fact, I have had these tires for almost a year now, and I have not noticed a difference in traction on dry roads or on rain-soaked roads. These tires provide a quiet ride, and literally hug the road. Cornering is excellent; these tires can hug corners at speeds up to 30mph.

 

The Revelation Touring tire is a truly crappy all-season tire that BFG sells exclusively to a single chain of stores (Tirecraft in Canada, Sears in the States) so that they can sell a cheap all-season with the BFG name on it. Also, it's not available in any of the lower-profile sizes for most of our cars. Definitely NOT recommended.

If you need tires for good winter traction, get winter tires. The Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50 and REVO1, and Michelin X-Ice are awesome.

If you absolutely must use the same tires on winter snow as the rest of the year, then get some good all-seasons, not this crap. The best all-seasons on the market are the Kumho Ecsta ASX, Pirelli PZero Nero M&S, Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS, Avon M550 A/S, and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. The Kumho is usually considerably less expensive than the others, although the Pirelli sometimes comes close.

Sounds like you've never tried any of these other tires...
