FS: Harbor freight tig/arc WITH PEDAL - nearly ready to weld just add gas $200 obo 4yr wrnty
SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!
SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!
SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!
I have for sale a chicago electric tig welder (from harbor freight) that I have added a pedal to (so you can control amperage).
The welder normally sells for $200 + tax and comes with no way to wire it up and no supplies. not even a plug. With my welder you get the whole kit, just add gas and a regulator. I'll include 2 new tungstens all the cups collets and everything you need to weld with. The unit has a 20 amp twist style 220v plug on it now. Also has arc rod holder.
There is also 3 years left on a four year replacement plan left on this thing.
The reason i'm selling this is because I got a much larger AC/DC tig and simply don't need this one any longer. It does great on mild and stainless which is what I bought it for. I built a few sets of charge pipes and a full stainless manifold with it. The pedal works great, I've used it and tested it and works on stainless like a champ.
Please pm me, yahoo me computerjlt at yahoo or aim me "honda of fury". I need to sell this thing soon as bills are coming up. I'm asking $200 + shipping, pickup is free if you're in the denver/metro area else shipping will be ~ $30 in the US.
Here are some older pix of the welder. no pedal here

And here are some of my first ever tig welds

Did you end up rigging the 10k pot to a sewing machine pedal for this?
I have been following the HF TIG thread for a bit.
I could do it Sunday if its not snagged beforehand.

No it's actually a mad catz pedal from an N64 :-p worked perfectly. The rotation is the same for the pedal as it was for the welder so I put the 10k pot out of the welder into the pedal assembly and ran with that. Tried it out and it works pretty well. You can taper the amps off at the end and break the arc a lot easer than pulling th etorch away so you dont have as much contamination.
I'll find or take somre more pix of the whole welder this afternoon but you can just imagine an HF tig with a mad catz controller wired into it

And if anyone is interested, for a nominal fee I can make an adapter that will wire this bad boy up to your dryer outlet...
A local guy flaked on me that wanted me to do it; < $15 in parts and I can make one; add about $1/ft for how long you want it.
