Default any way to prevent theft ???

i do have my mind made up about getting a ITR even though i live in Jersey City , NJ . ive had my 2003 subaru wrx for about 2 years now and i have it parked outside everyday in front of my house . ( it was the featured cover car on Modified Magazine Septmeber 2006 issue )

but i do plan to park the ITR in the garage since its has much more chances of gettting stolen .

but my question is , is there absolutely no way to prevent theft ?

car alarm ? alpha wheel lock ? kill switch ? any engine management that cuts fuel ?

The best you can do, especially in a risky area like that is put as many different layers of security on heR as possible. Garage is the best thing, with dead-bolts in the track.

The Alpha lock is useless, quite a few cars have been stolen while they were on. You're best bet is a full wheel boot with a lug-nut cover.

Also, a quality GPS tracking device stealthily installed. A paging alarm too.

A good alarm and prey every night. I have a viper alarm and my pager notififies me when something is messed with on the car. Well he changed something out where the pager beeps very annoying and loud. The pager is always within arms reach of me, and my alarm is so sensitive that even the most experienced thief is bound to set it off even if for like 5 seconds, giving me enough check it out.

Keeping a low profile is a start. You have made 2 threads and already everyone knows what city/town you are in, what previous/current car you have, and that as of now you dont have adequate security.

Not a good start.

Edit: and you first and last name

In all seriousness, you live in Jersey City. You have to be 10X more careful than folks in most other areas.

Jersey in general is a breeding ground for blood sucking honda vampires that come out at night. Riding around in a PY R in JC is going to be like a creole virgin walking through the woods at night as Lestat cases her from a nearby tree.

Not trying to scare you, but I am aware of one ITR that was taken from it's owner in JC at gunpoint.

Jersey City near the water and downtown is very nice, but the hood in JC is among the roughest.

Be careful.

alarm, kill switches, club, auto lock, park it in the garage, dont leave it parked somewhere for too long (i.e. mall, movies, etc.) and get the best insurance money can buy.

My friend, as i have already attempted to explain to you......you CANNOT daily drive that car living where you do and not expect something to happen. Please don't tell us we didn't try and warn you.

Jersey, next to the "armpit of america" also = Breeding ground for Honda thieves

pretty much everything has been covered.

a removable steering wheel perhaps, the only downside is you have to carry it with you when you leave your car. your car could still get towed away if someone wanted it bad enough though.

i don't suggest daily driving it. if you do, then make sure you have full coverage on it and pray.

Theft will be a problem from what I read, but I just wanted to say I got that issue and your car is gorgeous. It is actually the car that made me consider getting an Subaru.
