Pros/Cons ? We were talking about them in another thread I figured this might draw more attention, because I dont hear of many people running them.
They do offer one for the H22/H23..I've seen them on ebay and a few performance sites. It comes with a block-off plate for the water pump that has a pulley attached to it to replace the water pump.
Member 'XES' has used one but he rarely posts.
I'll see if I can find a pic...

Like hawkze said, they come with an idler pulley and a sealed block-off plate to replace the original pump....
There is no reason that the wiring would ever fail if installed correctly, unless something major happens to the car....as long as you make good connections and run the wires right you should have no problems....
Also keep in mind that this is more efficient cooling due to the fact that the pump runs at a constant speed always, no matter the speed of the engine.....
edit: After I read a little bit, it seems they have a 2-speed adjustment run by a switch....though the $350 pricetag is a bit steep....
supposedly they last over 3000 hours, that should be over 75000 miles for most drivers....

True that...contrary to what some think you actually drop the temp more from higher rpms than lower rpms if you are moving because it circulates the coolant.

Is anyone running these on their daily driver? I have been wondering about that for years.
I did not know they were 2 speed. Do you happen to know what rpms those speeds resemble?

Hmmm... so do you guys think it would be good on a DD ? Im gonna be installing it on a weekend car/track car though. Thats if i go with it though.
I have no idea as of yet, I'd like to figure out the whole speed/thermoswitch thing first....
Without a thermostat it will take forever to get the car warm enough for heat (and its cold out)....
take a look at this

golden eagle makes one too....

His car is pretty well built guys, I doubt he noticed any difference based on the numbers that car runs

to be honest i really dont pay attention to the gas milege
thats what the hoopty's for
but i will have to say that power has to gain being the car is running cooler and under hood temps are lower ,just for an idea if im cruzing on the highway in 50 degree temps the car will stay around 150 degrees =civic c&r half size rad ,meitzer pump, drilled thermostat, water wetter, and slim pusher fan

I don't think it would take any longer to warm up. The only reason you have a thermostat is to stop the flow of water through the radiator right to allow the car to warm up, and then cool off when it opens? Maybe your stock water pump is stirring things up, but when the thermostat is closed the waters really not moving anywhere. Assuming the thermoswitch is mounted in the head it should work just as good.
