Default Took of my heatshields

today while i was at work i threw my car on the lift and decided to take off my exhaust heatshields. both of them. i had to, it was the only way to get rid of the rattling. maybe im being a little paranoid, but will the exhaust ever reach a temperature where it could start melting the hydraulic lines that go to my tranny, or start melting the gas tank. it probaly wont. but i would feel better if i was assured this. thanks.

It should be fine. I took mine off a long time ago and it has been okay.

next time , instead of removing the heat shield,, just install a big metal clamp around it ,, it works great and you get to leave the SHIELD as is

not to mention if you park your car under alot of leaves you have a chance of scratching the paint... or worse... forgetting where you buried your car.... car under leaves bad idea
