Default A little Domestic Work

I was confronted a few months ago to work on our 1st domestic. The task was simple, fit 10 pounds of **** into a 1 pound bag. Well here it is a 410CI WS6

2 T4 TO4s
2 44mm Wastegates
2 50mm BOVs
2 Dump tubes
2 Upipes
2 Downpipes
2 Intercoolers
2 Sets of Charge Piping

I am in the middle of making a few changes, the filler cap is going on the upper radiator hose which is going to be raised a bit for the motor to rock, then reassembling the car and seeing what kind of power she can make.

Nice work! Do all twin turbo set ups use two intercoolers? I dont know to much about twin setups? Do people ever make them so you merge everything where you just use one BOV and 1 intercooler?

The only thing I would have done different IMO would be to use a TT intercooler and have it with one pipe going to the TB.... would be much easier and would allow use of a better IC..... but like I said that’s just my opinion.

The only reason i used 2 intercoolers and 2 charge pipes to the throttle body was to keep the factory hood latch, the customer would not go to hood pins.

Those intake manifolds work fine for forced induction. They are a better under boost then teh FAST manifolds in terms of cracking. Heres a 408 twin turbo laying down some big power with twin t67's:

only thing stopping me from doin a ls1 project
the mustangs have a ton more room them the fbodys.

did you make custom turbo manifolds? of use some flipped shorties?

fab looks good

There are headers flipped backwards and then 2 up-pipes made off of those.

The composite manifold thru up a flag to me also.I've seen several fail on trucks and some cars without boost.Nice fab job,I always like seeing a variety of stuff..

Firebirds have always had **** for engine room for some reason. Even my 67 has the steering column 1/8" from the header. My mom's WS6 is a pain in the *** to do anything to - the factory recommends removing the suspension to remove the motor

Anyways, I've seen quite a few IC's for that setup, namely the type that comes with 350Z twin kits. One core, two inlets below, then one outlet above. Regarless, looks amazing as it sits.

no, its a pontiac transam, And the correct way to remove the motor is to drop the k member, its really not as hard as youd think, thats a nice looking setup , why didnt you run the Sts rear mounted setup?

He actually had an sts re-mount setup and it had uncontrollable boost creep, so he wanted something that would work better and something he could show-off.

dropping the k-member with the engine is REALLY easy if you have a lift and access to a welder. just weld up a little dolly, toss the car on the lift, drop car onto the dolly and remove all your bolts...lfit up body, done can be done VERY fast if you're used to it
