Ive never had a problem with ITR valves. I have however had bad luck with Rev.
I would stick to oem valves if it were me. They do their job just fine

My JDMITR has CTR PCT pistons, Mugen 2-layer gasket, Toda valve train, and in order to run pro2, Skunk2 told me to use pro series rather than their standard skunk dvs. They made it sound like TODA VT and their regular SKUNK2 VT was JUNK. I still need to tune but I'm still using my Toda vt. As far as valves, I'm still using my stock valves. My first set up was with Toda A2 and I daily drive my Hatch with AC.
