Default Oil catch can off of valve cover???

i am going to install an oil catch can on my ls-vtec with the plug coming from the exaust side of the valve cover near cylinder # 2....

1. just curious if anyone has done this before to alleviate excesses pressure buildup in the head?

2. How did it work for you?

3. How much oil would come out during normal daily driving (under 3500rpm) on average weekly? How much when racing??

btw...it's a stock obd1 ls block with a 2001 gsr head...any help would be greatly appreciated...

also i'm looking for a affordable oil catch system...i saw weapon r had one 4 $50...i figure they all work the same for this kind of thing as it's not really a "performace part" correct me if i'm wrong...

thanks

In my opinion, with your low compression mild build motor the stock PCV system is all you need. If you had more compression and larger cams you might begin exceed the ability the stock PCV system.

no it hasn't, but i am runnin extremly high and un normal oil pressure on the gauge...usto peak at 80psi when i got on it, and around 90-95 psi if i was beating the hell outta it...then around 30-40psi at idle depending on how hard i was driving...not it' at about 60 when at idle...and it is off the chart at throttle...not sure whats up but i think it's being overwelmed with pressure..

You have another issue there. Is the stock PCV system hooked up properly?
