Default Dash/Console/Shifter Lights Out

'92 Civic DX Hatch (A/T): Over the past year, the lights on the HVAC console would go out occasionally, but I could get them back on by hitting the top of the dash. Then they decided to go out completely, as well as the lights illuminating the shifter positions (P-R-D-3-2). Now, the entire dash lights are out too, so at night I can't see how fast I'm going, how much fuel I have, what gear I'm placing the shifter in; I'm basically driving in the dark. When I last checked, all the fuses were intact, and I even replaced the battery (didn't help the light problem). Any ideas what might be causing this? I take it all these lights are connected through the same wiring? Any help is appreciated; thanks!

A faulty dimmer switch. Go snake one off a car in a junkyard, or buy one off ebay.
