no hip protection, but there are kneepads that protect the knee and a little bit below. it is similar to the elbow protection found in any of the popular leather jackets.
the pant material is pretty thick and there is a lining, somewhat like spandex or under armor, on the inside of the pants for comfort. here's the description on the A* site http://www.alpinestars.com/mot....html

consider the pants sold. I'm an hour south of LA when you're in town let me know. I might be interested in the jacket too.

i revived this thread because it doesn't seem like I can make it down to the 949 area before I leave. You can pick them up here, meet me in Santa Monica, or I can mail them to you. So I posted the pants up as unsold.
