I think its still going to be a bitch, your going to have to manuver through the crank. Best to do is take off the pully its a 5 min job with air. This way youll have to take the top mount off and move all the belts.

impact gun dude , will take the main pully bolt right off no problem. if you havent one or dont know anyone with one , take it to a shop , ask them to just crack that nut for you. dont cut your cover man , you dont wanna do that. crank pully bolts go 130 ft/lbs , and make sure the keyway is in place properly.

if you cut that open youll be getting water and mud splashed directly on your timing belt and all up in your timing cover. wouldnt be a good idea. have a shop or freind take it off with air

Cutting the lower part off would negate the purpose of the cover. You don't want rocks or debris to get up in there and shred your timing belt.

If you aren't willing to crack the crank pulley and do it the right way, you might as well just leave the cover off.

P.S. If you don't have air tools, just use a long *** breaker bar. Back in the day I used a 6' long cheater. lol.

Now I have air and it takes 2 seconds to get that bitch off.
