Take your lugnuts to a plating house and have them anodized. Once i get my car and then once i get my rims im having them anodized black. If you do have them anodized be sure to find out what material they are made of

My lugs(blue) are Works... came with my wheels for the wonderful price of about $100 ... quality pieces though, come with a lock for each wheel and the lugs are anodized/etched - no fading and they look fancy.

if youre running stock wheels i wouldnt really reccomend using aftermarket lugs tho .l.

I think aftermarket colored lugs would look good with the flat black look i am going for.

as noted above.
Using aftermarket lugs on stock wheels is NOT recommended.
They have different "seats" which could cause them to come off during driving.

Why would they suck with stock wheels but work with say a enkei wheel thats funny what is the diff they should be universal. I guess its a matter of matching up the sizes.

They work... but aren't recommended.
Certain wheels need a certain taper of lugs.

As Mike mentioned, the stock lugs have a different taper design as opposed to the aftermarket ones. They'll fit but you run the risk of having them back out more easily durnig driving.

Will, to answer your question. When you anodize metal you put it in a bath of chemicals and run current through the tank, which adheres the plating to the metal. Part of the thickness is above the material and part of it is in the material. It looks nice depending on what color you get and its protective as well.
