Default Max lift? Please HELP!

What is the max lift and duration that a jdm type r can handle with out crashing and hitting the piston?( This is on a milled head). Will be using omni valvetrain. A buddy said that if I got m22xx cams that would definatly hit, so what do you suggest? He said he made good power with blox's but haven't heard a lot about them. HELP!

The M22's or the Blox's? The Blox's have more lift, and shorter duration I think.

Why would the m22's hit and blox's not when they have more lift?

m22's wont hit either. if you have doubts, clay the motor. couple of people running m22's on stock blocks with no problems. you do have to take into account what piston you'll be using.

I would clay it but no tuner shops in my area do it, and I really don't want to learn on a 3000 dollar motor. That's why I want to ask people that have already built itr motors and see what there setups are and any suggestions that they have.

Stock bottom end already has 1 layer head gasket, and milled head.020. Plan on using omni valvetrain, or rocket if you guys think the cams will fit, stock valves. Buddy club gears, victor x intake, 310 inj. That's it my setup as of right now. Just need a cam that won't give me any clearance issues and will make good power. Plan to rev to about 9000 rpm.
