Default compression and cam duration

im trying to make a choice on what cam, and what spec i want to run in my H22. ive got a P&P head, RM valvetrain, have yet to get valves and plan on getting some high comp valves. ill be putting in 11:1 pistons and with a cleanup of the head and block am assuming around 11.2:1 maybe 11.3:1 compression.

as much as the setups vary on here, its hard to decide what is going to make power on my individual setup. right now, im considering type S cams, H22x from rocket, the Blox B's or crower II's. now to my question for all the builders out there. duration compared to compression? ive seen people running huge cams on stock bottom ends and making no where near the power the cam is meant to put out. can anyone reveal any secrets to how duration on a cam is governed given a certain compression?
