i have a stock 06 civic lx manual with no mods. i noticed that when i had to make a hard sudden brake, i can hear something grinding (sounds like gears) and i can also feel some sort of vibration on the brake pedal?

maybe because im make the hard sudden brake while im in gear with my clutch all the way pushed back in....

is this normal? or anyone else experience this?

 

This sounds like the ABS. I thought my **** was broken too once I got on my brakes hard, but I also never had ABS. It takes some time to get used to, but that is more than likely your "problem."

 

i think your right...its probably the ABS.
afterall...this is my first car with ABS.

 

The vibration you felt on the brake pedal is the abs pulsating. I do it manually with my foot on my non abs equiped car and my passenger hates it, but at least it makes me feel that I have abs.

 

just remember when you feel it dont let up, keep pushing normally. Supposedly the abs system is very sensative. I've had mine kick in on occasion.
