As far as I know you cant do a H2B tranny swap in a accord or prelude due to the cable shifter. But of course anything is posseble with the right fabrication in my eyes. Im pretty sure that the F series trannys have the longer gears out of the F and the H. I have looked everywhere for someone who has done a H2B in a accord and have found nothing but the whole cable shifter makes it not posseble. But the way I look at it is... people found a way to put H trannys in civics and integras, so why not the other way around? There has to be a way. But if your not into the series fab thing then I would go with a F tranny definitly.

ok I read the post.....so basicly if u can get traction with shorter gearing on an h22 then thats the way to go. But if u cant hook up an h23 or f22 trans maybe result in better et. Is this correct ?

says who? for maximum acceleration, you want the tightest gearing you can get, especially with a turbo car. turbo lag sucks.

I would say run the H23 trans in your 5th gen prelude but what do I know about making a prelude fast. Also depends on how tall of a tire your going to run this can also help you determine what tranny is best for your application. Just my 2cents

26" tall tires can fit ona lude but if your going to try and run an event make sure ur tire size will be legal for that class. Ie 24.5 in(slicks)

that should help u, its got all the ratio's
md23vtec obivously knows what he's talking about, but my opinion is the m2b4...comes with factory lsd, and as stated, shorter gears assuming traction means quicker accel. you can change tires to fine tune. different classes, different rules, if u care about that. im going to work my suspension and launch to gain traction and best times. when ive maxed out this setup, then custom tranny, prob going to have gears from many differnt ones, and custom final drive to match my speed exspections...

as far as i have found no one has tested the limits yet. so far at 482 whp on bf drags its holding up. spins both at the track or street 1st and 2nd when i heat them up, we'll see how it peforms on slicks soon...

M2S4 also
Everybody has there own reasoning and prefernce. I went 11.0 on stock H23 trans OPEN diff/stock axels in my prelude. There are so many things you have to factor in to find the correct tranny/tire combo and what will work best for you. IMO just because something "SEEMS" working for you doesnt mean its the best thing. Thats all apart for trial and error

I guess i can rephrase that ... since you "SEEM" to be calling me out on that. I have a h22 tranny ... And IT DOES work fine for me. i see no reason to change it at the moment.
