Default start of our crx drag car

well me and b16pwrcrx got our hands on a crx shell for a good price and have decided to build a drag only car. here are some pictures of the tear down in preparation for the bead blasting booth in my dads shop. once we get further into the build we will get more in depth and post more pictures. but heres what we have so far. took the dash and interior panels out the other day and this is what we did today from that point on.

im going to say you made a bad choice..

those cars have the smallest engine bay's ever, its such a pita to fit anything in there. let alone work on it...

unless you plan on cutting the front end off the car ?? tubing it out ?

whats your game plan ?

Yeah. Hardly. Hell you have to beat the hell out of the firewall for the alternator on a B-series to go in the USDM Crx. CRX's certainly aren't an ideal car to work on for ease... but it will still be fast as hell if you do it right.

All you have to do is whack the driver side frame rail a couple of times with a 3lb. mini sledge. I've never had to touch the firewall.

Good luck with the build. Keep us updated

^^^ lol

But I think it is the best choice for a drag car, the power to wight, the choice of motor swaps.

true but drag classes have wieght rules. Only advantage is you could do is put the weight were you want it if it as below the rules. Plus you need some weight in a light car other wise they become unstable at high speeds.
good luck on the build

yea maybe it doesnt have the most amount of room. but i couldnt pass it up. i basically got the car for free. and its just a fun build for ***** and giggles. and i mean theres plenty of drag rexs out there so cant be that bad. its going to be a slow process but i will keep it updated when i can
