Default Will a GSR intake manifold fit on a B20???

I know the Type-R intake mani requires modification to fit the B18A/B20 head but I was wondering if the GSR manifold will go on OK.

I think I'm going to pick up a B20B with long term goals of putting my GSR head on it but since it's a fully assembled long block I'd rather just drop the engine in with my intake manifold and get the car on the road rather than having to deal with building a CRVtec right now. This way I could be on the road by monday with no problems.

Thanks for any input.

Different head pattern, and with the way the GSR ports are made, it would be a bitch to modify the manifold. Don't try it.

i just got done with this swap that you are wondering about. i was told and know that it does not bolt up. i do know that anything is possible and that you can make anything fit. i had my head off to get all sorts of work done so i figured that i could buy my friend's stock gsr intake and go to work while my car was down. i do have to admit..."it was a bitch" but personally having never seen this before and wondering about the performance aspects, i know that it is more capable than the ls stocker and it can always be ported from the 2nd runners. it involves drilling, filling, grinding, etc. it actually wasn't that bad. i will take pictures very soon and i just have to show it off because it is pretty sweet i must say. i can tell a little difference but there is also a combination of valve work and a ported b18b1 head. so i will take some pics tonight because no one seems to believe what i say and see what you guys think.

no. i don't use a heater so i ran the coolant to the side of the head.

how about it? it sucks that's what. or if you are asking if it fits you don't have to modify it. i'm gonna swap the turbo soon and of course go with an external wastegate. it sucks though i just finished the intake mating...i just found a b16b head which i'm pulling off a friend's block tommorrow so i won't be running this b18b head/gsr intake much longer. hey where do you hang out in jacksonville? i am always there. i used to go to blanding but it's no fun anymore. sometime soon i am going to time at gainesville raceway.

i paid $40 for that one that I wanted and i couldn't find the one that YOU wanted. i don't know if you can read but go up a couple replys and read about the b16b and how i won't be running this 'low flow' intake much longer. WHY do YOU ask me such dumb questions anyhow? the **** i choose to do has nothing to do with you and what you are thinking. i could go to all your posts and topics and be a dick just like you but no thanks. to cool me down and for you. thanks kam!

It's pretty funny ever since I started this I have taken so much flak for running a GSR head / manifold on a CRVtec setup. Everyone reads that the B16 / 18c5 flows better and they jump on me about how my GSR head will "flow like ****" etc. etc. etc.

Well yippee at top end the B16 manifold and head present 5% less flow restriction. I bet with a turbo strapped on nobody's going to complain either way.

I've seen a y8 in mani on a b7 head... so anything is possible.

i just got a good deal on a type r i/manifold, what kind of mods are you exactly talking about to fit the b20. Is it worth the trouble, or should i just go w the ls intake manifold??

For the Type-R or Si manifold to attach to a B18b/B20 head, you can find decent instructions at:

It doesn't look too difficult at all.

Why Would You Put A GSR Intake Man. On A B20...?The B20 Aint The Greatest, But IT Sure Beats That Damn Snail Of An Intake Manifold That Comes On The P72 Head... Stay With The B20, Or Run An LS If Yours Is The One With The Big ***** On The Top
