Brakes?
i tried searching but to no avail. My question is this, My brakes are obviously gone they make a awful metal souund and after high speed braking they feel warped. How can I tell if i need new rotors, pads or bolth. thanks any help is appreciated.
Just from what you typed I would say you need new pads and a good chance new rotors.
Take everything apart, you can take the rotors to autozone, or pepboys. They can check the thickness and see if they can be ground down. I think it costs $8ea.
Install rotors with NEW pads. Also check your MC fluid level, if it is low before the new pads are installed I would bleed the system just incase you sucked in an air bubble.

thanks guys are ss brake lines a worth the 120+ or are they mostly for the track. i drive very spirited on the street but as of yet dont go to the track.

Obviously Brakes are a Safety item, so in my opinion if you have the opportunity to make a safety item even more effective then go for it.

Just to play devil's advocate again. I've read a lot more good threads for SS brake lines then bad.
So they may not be a bad investment, but you have to realize that they are a wear item and need to be inspected regularly. If you think you are disciplined enough to check on them, and are willing to accept the risks and benefits then go ahead.
Personally I would not put them on my DD. I am currently working on a weekend/track car which I will put them in and will also carry a spare set with me to the track and on long drives just in case. IMO a good set of pads and fluids should suffice for DD use.

ss line are a plus but functioning brakes are more important. get some brembo blanks and some good ceramic pad and you'll be dialed. after that then get some braided lines.

Save your money and just buy Autozone blanks. They are cheap, work well and come with a warranty. I know of quite a few people that use them and I have had them on my car for 11 months with no problems so far.
