Default suspension gurus i need help

alright after fight this in my head for the past week or so i figured i'd get some opinions on here as well

car:
-dc2 chassis
-2600 w/ driver
-65-35% front-rear weight ratio
-750whp
-25 or 26"slicks (haven't figured out which tranny to build yet)

the car get driven on the street at around 450whp and 225/50/15 bfgs, but its only a "weekend warrior" ha and i'm will to sacrifce ride quality if it aids traction.

I'mlooking to get a d2 suspension with the following possible spring rates (3.5, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 18, and 22 kg/mm)

i was thinking the 18kg/mm in the rear and 11kg/mm in the front... what do you guys think?

are you going to be running nhra events at all? if so you are limited to a 25" slick but ndra allows a 26", but if your willing to sacrifice ride quality and its only a weekend toy like mine is going to be im going with the omni drag suspension i found it cheapest at boostfed.com i think it is $750 and the d2 is more than that from what i remember,
but i know a couple drag cars do run the d2 and i havent seen anybody complain about it or have problems so i guess it all boils down to what works best for you and if you want really stiff or a ok ride but stiff enough in the back to help your 60' etc.

I wouldn't run the d2 or any of that stuff i'd get some koni's and Gc coil overs with spring rates somewhere in the neighborhood of 600-1200 or something like that. Just remember if you drastically chnage spring rates your dampers will not work properly

i'd like to do a full coilover setup that can be preloaded. So that kinda kicks the koni/GC idea out. I just wasn't sure on how stiff to go. i mean theres got to be a point where the gains to go stiffer don't really pay off.

what are the rates on the omnis? 18k, i wonder if they would give me a shock dyno sheet for the rebound and compression specs. I need fronts and rears, so what would be a good rate for the fronts?

i'm not totally sold on the omnis as i have access to a shock dyno, so if i get their shock dyno numbers and can dial in the d2s to the same i may be set. Possibly even more aggressive. But thats up to the guys that have expierence with this, what do you think?

What's the shock dyno going to tell you?

Its much easier IMO to go with something that's already been tested and proven than to go and try and test something that hasnt been tried.

Omni is a really good suspension setup for drag/street. For strictly drag, I recommend using the Strange suspension kit. But for the price and the uses of the Omni, you cant go wrong with those.

true but i figured sense i have access to an expensive *** machine i might as well make use of it. Its not like the other suspension options are totally off the wall compaired to the proven setups.

I need ideas on spring rates guys not brands ha

the strange suspension is killer, the double adjustability will allow you to do whatever you like - we have been running the strange on all 4 corners this year and in 2005 we ran the strange up front with the omni in the rear

my complaint i have with the strange is it is frustrating knowing that you have the adjustability available to you but it can be difficult to setup without having some dedicated track time to just adjusting the suspension setup, basically the complaint falls back onto our shoulders but i guess this can be a reason that the omni drag setup is such a good choice - it is a bolt on, out of the box affair, you can't go wrong, it has proven itself time and time again and once it is installed that is it, nothing more needed

if you have some time to do some setup things then the strange with all the adjustability is nice but who has the time to do that now a days, for all we know we may be leaving 1-2 tenths on the track every pass due to a small adjustment in the suspension that we could make (geez, i guess we need to go and do some testing and find out)

I've got the adjustable omni's on the front and i've been playing with the rebound dampning a bit and seeing some improvement.

I'm trying to take advantage of my school ha... We've got a 100ft strip with a tree to tune in your 60ft times, a shock dyno, and a bunch of other stuff
