2006 CRV braking problem ?
Okay here goes I have a 06 Crv SE with only around 10,000 miles on it. This thing has the factory stability controls on it. The problem.......or maybe not it could just be normal. During normal braking and this only happens once in awhile when applying the brakes. Everything seems ok then the brakes start to grab harder if you let off the brakes they continue to grab for second longer and the computer seems to have cut the fuel. It also feels like the brakes are being applied at different rates on each wheel for a second. This seems to be most noticeable when braking for someone turning off the road or when going down mountains(time when you are only on the brakes for a few seconds then back on the gas). Is anyone else having this type of problem?
No experience with stability control versions, but I assume it's an automatic trans? The Mrs' 02 CRV has a noticeable deceleration as the trans downshifts with the brakes applied. Test drive a model similar to yours at the dealer. If it doesn't behave the same way, obviously somehtings not right.
It is an auto and I have very little experience with the cr-v. This is the first car that I have owned with the stability control, abs and, a fly by wire throttle. I have driven a few other cr-v's but none of them were this body style and none had stability control or fly by wire. It doesn't feel like engine braking or a trans down shift. This definitely feels like its in the braking system. I will see if I can get a hold of another crv with these fetures and see what happens. Anyone else have any ideas
The 07 CR-V has a new feature called Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) In simple terms it decides what wheels have the best ability to slow the vehicle in situations of low traction. It's similar to the ABS system.
that is great but the 07 is the new body style I am not sure if the 06 has the same system. Thanks for the info I am contacting Honda today to see what they say.
Well go figure the Tech at Honda was some little punk that had no idea other then drive it untill it get worse. Good idea then when something bad happens and my wife is in an accident i can say see i told you there was something wrong. Well I guess I will just have to find the problem for them. This is why I work on all my own cars.

That's the reason I suggested driving a similarly equiped vehicle. If it doesn't behave like yours, and you bring yours in for warranty work to correct the problem and they tell you it's normal... you can tell them to fix the one you test drove because something is wrong with it. They really love that!
I hope you get some straight answers.

Our local dealer doesn't have any and I don't know anyone with the same body style/gen as this car. I WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS and when I do I will let you guys know what the deal is.
