Default Aem Intake question

I got a good deal on a lightly used aem v2 for a 96 accord and I am a little disappointed. It is supposed to be a cold air intake but looks like a short ram. I never knew aem v2's came in a short ram for 5th gens; am I mistasken??

does anyone have a picture of the exact pieces you are supposed to get for a 96 accord kit? I got one piece of tubing that isn't gonna make it back down behind the bumper. This thing is about the size and shape of the short ram i currently have.

For most cars, the V2 will not be positioned the same as the original cold air, or even the ram air. It's actually not designed to be either...

From AEM's website:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by AEM &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">We have found that inlet length plays a vital role in the power production of V2 systems and not all V2 induction systems relocate the filter outside of the engine compartment. In these cases, we performed extensive temperature testing to locate the filter in the coolest area of the engine compartment to achieve the lowest inlet temperatures possible. Please refer to our temperature testing procedures for more information.</TD></TR></TABLE>

ya, i understand it's diff. than most, but I didn't receive the whole lower portion of the two piece kit. If i were to install it the way it is now my fgilter element would be in the same position as my current ebay short ram. It doesn't make it any farther out of the engine compartment than my current. I got schemed on... god i hate ebay.

okay, so some of these V2's are short ram length, and then some are cold air length?? I know I sound really dumb here, but I knew a guy a while ago with a 97 and he had to cut out holes to make his fit because it went all the way down behind the bumper. Same body style, same engine.. is this really what I paid for? a short ram intake?

the early v2's for 94-97 accords were short ram style. the one I have doesn't have a carb number yet, it just has a sticker saying the carb number is pending. I'm not sure if they changed it or not.
