some people use ATS, some use seafoam, others use marvel mystery oil. here, let me debunk the myth about only using "seafoam" to do this:
you can use WATER to decarbon a cylinder. yep, regular old tap water. trick was showed to me 20 years by an old timer. i used to use it on my old civics w/ carbs. personally, i use hot water, so i am not putting ice cold water on top of a hot piston.

Yes ATF has a cleaning agent in it. I've used an ATF mix to break in new rebuilds as well as clean up old engines that have been sitting for 20+ years. And as one said, water works as well, nice hot engine, mid rpms, use a squirt bottle and start squirting away. Steam Clean
Yeah ATF is ok to use, is detergency helps clean out all the crap that builds up inside engines, the only thing is that its not as viscous as regular oil, so when u do use it just let your engine idle for about 30 min. and then take it out n put sum good oil in it, its best if you use an engine cleaner instead but i've used both n there not so bad.

You should have mentioned that it should be as a mist. We dont need a thread saying "water destoryed my motor" becauase they thought it was ok to stick a water hose in there throttle body.
