2001 type r with gsr motor..
i found a 2001 itr with 33k miles on it for 16k.. but the only problem is that it has a gsr motor.. man that sucks.. but do you still think its worth buying? and if so what can i do bout the motor since i would be getting owned by a type r even though my car would be a itr but it would have a weaker (gsr) motor in it.. how much can i get a type r motor for? thanks..
but where i tried.. i am trying to find one at a dealership.. because i am trying to do a trade in... i stay in cali.. and i looked at dealerships 100 miles away and thats the only one i can find..
GSR motor might also have the GSR tranny. Work them down on price. Ask them do you have paperwork for the motor change? They most likely wont and ask for a huge discount

My ITR has a GSR engine in it for the time being. It also has an LS crank. It must be really slow
Be patient-there are plenty of ITRs for sale-wait and you should be able to get your hands on a relatively unmolested R.

Is it a stock GSR engine? Many people sell their B18C5 and start with a bare block when they do a big motor build. It it were a re-sleeved B18C1 block and built very nicely, who cares what stamping is on the block. If it's a bone stock B18C1, I would stay away for that price.
yea its the one on autotrader.. its located in sac i think.. but yea i would get a loan from a bank to buy from a private seller.. but i want trade in my 2006 civic lx with 6k miles on it for a type r.. thats the only reason im looking for one at a dealership..
I saw it on autotrader as well, at first i thought it was just a regular itr for a nice price then looked closely and saw "gsr motor" and immediately clicked back. not worth it imo.

if so take it to carmax and sell it to them, and then go buy your self a itr</TD></TR></TABLE>
use to work for Carmax in IL. Carmax is not somewhere i would sell my ITR. They tend to buy really low. But for a 06 Civic LX, I think they will cut a decent check for that.
not worth it in my opinion. there are too many ITR's in Cali and i'm sure one to pop up in a dealership. Since a lot of ITR's owners are trading ITR's in for EVOs, STi's, etc, i'd check their dealerships as well. Hey never hurts to try.

My R currently has a GSR in it. Reason being.....The C5 spun a bearing. I bought the car from my friend who had some money issues. He through in the C5 for a little extra money. I ended up paying 13k and it had 80k miles on it. Not a great price, but not bad either. And i still have a C5 to rebuild!
WIth s300, ITR cams, Skunk2 IM, ITR TB, Dc header, AEM SRI it made 171whp on a Dynojet with 133 ft lbs.

I say buy a jdm b18c R motor and put it in an ek . . like mine
but if you want people to know you got a type r then go find a new one because its n0t worth buyin this one when you can buy a different type r with the original motor for that much. anyway its up to you d0ode
