Does this flywheel look safe?
I had my factory flywheel lightened from 16.8lbs to 13.7lbs.I took the flywheel along with my whole rotating assembly to be balanced. When I got everthing back the flywheel had 24 drilled spots in it. The guy showed me where the was cut was not even. So he had to take a lot of weight off of one side. What do you guys think it looks scary to me.
I can not get the pics to load so here is a link to my webshots account.

Its common to drill holes like that when lightening flywheels but that one looks ridiculous. hehe I have been lightening flywheels way before CM and all the other brands were popular, and usually takes 3-5 drills to balance it all out.
Maybe that one is super warped or sumthing.

I'm not liking it either. sure it's balanced and all, but damn... that area of the fly wheel is definately weakend now... I don't understand how the flywheel could be that far off... If they balanced the whole rotating assembly, you'd think they drill the crank weights rather than the flywheel...

I know exactly what they did
When they mounted the flywheel on the lathe they did not use the proper centering adapter and they cut that flywheel at an angle. To get it balanced to compensate for the other side they had to drill that many holes.
That wheel is not safe and will destroy itself and your transmission.
Get another!!
to machine shops that dont know how to cut a flywheel properly!!

letsride you win the prize. I had one shop (NLP) lighten the flywheel and they did not do it right but if the A$$ that balanced it would have called and said this things way off before he cut it up I could have taken it back and had NLP turn it a little more to straighten it out. I guess I will end up in a big fight
with the guy that did the balancing.
Thanks guys
