Default NOOO!!! scraped by a motorcyclist cutting lanes. help

well, last night on the way home, i was sitting at a stoplight, and a guy on a ( oddly enough ) yellow and black gixxer went by and got too close to my itr, and his peg and boot scraped my rear quarter panel right in front of my right rear tire.. took out a good chunk of paint, and scraped up my quarter panel just a bit.. the chunk of paint is about 1" in diameter.. oddly enough, i ride too, so i was kinda pissed the guy didnt stop. so enough with the rant, please tell me acura sells PY touch up paint???

I believe that PaintScratch can also provide you with the mixed paint in a spray can, which may provide better results if you're touching up a relatively large spot.

I definitely would have trailed him, while on the phone with the police, calling it a "hit and run" It would pretty much be a sure-fire judgment against him.

It's legal in some states. Why, I don't know. I'm not even a noob biker (just dirtbike experience) but it seems like a terrible idea.

That sucks! One of my pet peeves. I drive fast all of the time, but when a bike splits the lane and I take off as I always do, they take it personally
"Hey, I own a motorcycle and I am going to take cuts. I am going to sleep at the light and drive slowly in your lane, but you better not go around me! "
I once had some guy on a Harley race past me, swerve into my lane and slam on the brakes. This after he split the lane and cut in front of 10 or so cars in front of him and fell asleep at the light.
When driving in the number one lane on the freeway in Southern California I always leave extra room for the bikes splitting lanes. Last thing I want is to have him take off some of my paint, or worse yet, go down because he hit the side of my car.

It's legal here in CA. They say that its safer for the bikes because less chance of them getting sandwiched in an accident if they are always in front. That and they typically accelerate to the speed limit faster and people are trying to avoid them, so might as well move em to the front, where they wont be a distraction.

That sucks man! He should of pulled over

Being a rider also I hate when other riders give us a bad name. Here in CA it is legal and I do split lanes when coming to a stop only as a safety precaution. I do not split lanes because I can or to save time. When you think about a fender bender between two cars its no big deal normally, now put a bike in the middle and the results can be quite disastrous. Please try to remember that we are not all a-holes and are just enthusiasts trying to stay as safe as possible.

no one really changes lanes while stopped at a light...itd be safer to drive between the cars than to risk being rear ended i beleive

I wasn't even thinking about stoplights, but that does make sense. I was thinking moving traffic.

On behalf of semi-responsible motorcyclists everywhere, I'm sorry about what happened to you. Usually it's us getting hit-and-runned. This kind of stuff gives two-wheelers a bad name.
