i have a 94 gsr and the abs light is on
i pulled the code and it is abs code "8 4 IC self-check"
anybody know what this means?

this could mean that you need to pull the ABS sensor off and clean it i had same problem on mine and a good cleaning always helps

 

That code indicates a fault in one of the integrated circuits in the ABS control unit (the brain box near the right rear speaker on 2-door models). You'll need to replace that brain box. A brand new one only costs $1,361

Time to hit up the salvage yards.

Sorry, that's the only thing it can be, according to the Helm's manual.

I'm sure you can get one for cheap from a salvage yard. Just go to one and pick that box out of a car and be like "yeah I got this thing, it's just part of the console" and they'll be like "okay 10 bucks"

 

I've got one from my 94 that works just fine if your interested.

 

oh yeah I didn't think of that, you could get one from someone on here who has removed their ABS sytem.
