Default another springs question...

im looking for some advice on what springs to get for my 97 ex coupe
ill be rocking 14'' steelies and want to get springs that will give me better handling

performance >> looks....dont really care about the drop, as long as im not scraping cuz theres plenty o speedbumps in my area

also ride quality is important

best bang for the buck? also dont feel like getting real pricey shocks either

eibach pro kits and tokico illuminas.

i would not ignore shocks if you want a proper ride. good handling is much more about shocks than springs.

i think pro kits get you sufficiently low enough for reducing wheel gap and just stiff enough for extra performance. but not excessive in either way. just right in my opinion for street fun.

i recommend illumina because of the quality and value price available, especially on ebay, with a lifetime warranty. the adjustability is just gravy compared to cheaper options that just arent worth the time and money.

Tires/wheels will make a bigger difference than springs/shocks in your case because ride quality is of the utmost importance. A set of lowering springs and base aftermarket shocks won't increase handling by much if you're running 14inch steelies(probably 5 inches wide) and probably cheesy low grade tires(no offense, twice in a similar situation). Try going with a set of lowering springs and/or tokico blue(type shocks, eliminates the bouncy feeling) and definitely some new wheels/tires, preferrably 15 inches by 6 to 6.5 inches wide and low profile(50 series) v rated tires. If you want track type handling, full coilovers or aftermarket shocks/springs will do good.

Rotas with tires ($650 new) Ballpark could be lower, could be higher
Lowering springs ($150-200 new) Some less and some more, depending on brand
Tokico type shocks ($300-400 new)

I personally think its a waste of money to buy lowering springs and non adjustable shocks. Especially since there are adjustable full coilovers for around $800
