A wuestion for EF sedan owners.
I'm thinking of purchasing a 90, 5-speed EF sedan. My dad may pass by the seller's house to take a look at it on his way back to my place with my CRX and its' new clutch tomorrow. I had my dad's buddy replace the clutch for me at his garage as I didn't have any time to do it myself. Plus, he's an ex honda mechanic and is only charging me $250 for parts and labour. Anyways...back to the EF sedan...
It's a 1990, with about 200,000 miles. He says the engine is good but the battery is dead so it hasn't been running. He also said he replaced the clutch about 5000 miles ago, installed a new exhaust, pump and rad. He fixed the rust in the rear quarters and it needs new tires as the ones on it right now are close to, if not already bald. He's asking $500. Is that a good price? I was thinking of offering $250 and working from there. But he also said a few other people are also interested in it (probably just to get me to buy it). I was also thinking of either pulling the battery out of my CRX or bringing along a good one (if I can find one) to test drive it Monday morning. Is there anything I should be looking for that is more common with sedans than CRXs? If the price is right and the car is good, this may be my new daily driver while the CRX gets some much needed rest or both cars may take turns hauling my fat *** to work. Let me know what you guys think.

WOW TALK ABOUT DOUBLE NEGATIVE JACKINTHETRUNK!
haha anyways if the motor is good and the interior is good.. 500$ is not bad...if the rust was all fixed then you shouldnt have any problems with it... I have a ex sedan.. my car is pretty good just a dented fender... I got mine for 700$ really reliabel... overall its up to you.. if you like it and its In fair condition I say 500$ isnt bad at all...
offer 400$

I bought mine for 500 bucks, burns oil and has a small rust spot on the rear quarter. If you asked me If I think that I got I good deal I would say hell yea, why, becuase its a sedan, and 2 becuse its clean, 250 is cheap for just a shell.

Is the sedan a DX, LX and EX? Assuming it's a DX with 200k and you don't know if it runs $500 is still a great price. Are you going to just use it as a daily or build it to something greater?

Pictures of the sedan lead me to believe it's an LX, mostly cuz it says LX on the trunk! Is $500 a good price for an LX? What's the difference between the three trim levels? If I get this sedan, I'm hoping to use it as a daily driver for now, maybe alternating between it and my CRX but fix both cars up here and there whenever I get a chance. I'm loving all of the sedans in the EF sedan thread! That's what got me hooked on sedans.
